Mediate Initiative
Mediate Initiative cross-pollinating communities and disciplines brings up bottom-up green infrastructure forge urban regeneration. The systematic design enables the implementation of ecological intensification with an applied circular economy strategy. The distributed unused spaces are transformed into continuous green patches reshaping the cityscape, simultaneously embracing urban agriculture. Project articulate urban community within a density area utilise public place. Locally grown ingredients and food fulfil the local fresh food supply and demand, creating local food markets. Urban AG technology positively impacts the local economy; additionally, the food market attracts communities that develop a sense of place.
Sustainable urban horticulture offers a broad range of benefits - resources, energy, healthy environment, land value, place-making, human wellness improvement, and the circular economy. The land value increases and provides healthy horticulture by using small urban green areas. Open spaces help the local community active engagement, improve health and encourage positive social interaction. Interconnected small green patches represent globally distributed, locally extensive ecosystems that articulate multi-functional spatial relationships. The sustainable management of green infrastructure is crucial for maintaining the urban ecosystem.
