Umwelt

Wearable and architectural envelopes are seamless and integrated into our bodies and environments to help us define our sense and existence. We are evolving into a new kind of species as our personal data, and human activity are tracked via our wearable and intelligent architectural envelopes, making the machine behaviour more like us.

ICT becomes part of our extended body, allowing us to recreate ourselves in the unit of Bites and Pixels. We have left all our traces and histories while we surf between the physical and digital worlds. With the rapid development of IoT(Internet of Things), Things are connected via the digital network and have their behaviour and memories. The Umwelt project explored the interface of biotechnology to architectural intelligence where we can sustain humanity and contain its life. Hack biological systems to engineer a new form of species, and we can also hack into our physical world to recreate a new form of physical experience.
